Optimis wins appeal for seven residential dwellings in Great Horwood

Optimis is delighted that an appeal, against the decision made by Aylesbury Vale District Council, has been allowed and outline permission granted for the redevelopment of a redundant industrial site with a residential development to provide seven dwellings.

The Inspector found that the proposal will bring distinct benefits to the area such as clearance of poor quality buildings and much needed new homes.  The Inspector found that there was no evidence that the additional houses would be beyond the fifteen house limit for developments set out in the Neighbourhood Plan Policy 1.  The Inspector concluded that the proposal, reusing previously developed land, would be for sustainable development and that this material consideration is sufficient to override the conflict with the Neighbourhood Plan settlement boundary and Neighbourhood Plan Policy that restricts developments outside of the settlement boundary.
