At the present however, we are keen to hear from people that might suit the following roles:

Planning Manager – Senior or Junior

The business would like to recruit someone who has the relevant experience to work alone and has a proven track in promoting property for development.  This will be through preparing and submitting planning applications, appeals or representations to the emerging policy documents.

The nature of our business is that this person would come into direct contact with all clients whether they are house owners or corporate clients and as such a confident, charismatic approach and smart appearance is an essential quality for this role.

This role is intended to attract someone who is ambitious, wants to earn money commensurate with their own efforts. The basic salary will be significantly improved through a genuine bonus related scheme that rewards all employees based on the success of the business.  The more that the business makes the more the staff get paid.

We want someone who has aspirations to not only to grow the business but also expand the team that work at Optimis.  We want a person who will develop into a Director or a Partner, if this were appropriate and have an opportunity to take responsibility for the entire Company, when the appropriate time comes.

Graduate Planner – work experience.

This is a role that would be voluntary.  We would not be able to tie you down to hours or days but would encourage you to work with us over a period of time that provides you with the best opportunity to learn more about the planning system.  The role is unpaid, although reasonable expenses will be agreed.  Someone who shows particular skills and commitment will place themselves in a strong position to be offered a contract to work on a part time or full time basis.  It is our intention to identify a graduate through this programme who may be offered a planning and development assistant role, either within three weeks or three months!

You would obtain experience in a range of planning related subjects including residential development inspired by our sister company Optimis Developments Limited.  Although a small company this will ensure that you engage in all aspects of the business and this will give you a more rounded knowledge of the industry than may be possible in some larger organisations.
